Preparing for the summer vacation, internship and international careers fair

Show employers that you are genuinely interested in their organisation.

  • View the website’s of participating organisations to find out about opportunities on offer, news and the culture of the organisations
  • Write down questions you might ask that show you have done some research. Aim to find out more about areas not addressed in the organisation’s published resources
  • Practise introducing yourself and the questions you hope to ask. Appear confident, informed and ask relevant questions to make a good impression

About selection process

  • What are the most important qualities and skills you look for in candidates?
  • What do you look for when you read a resume from an applicant?
  • May I contact you again, should I have further questions?


About the work role

  • What are some of the responsibilities, tasks and priorities?
  • Can you tell me some of the things I would be doing in a typical week?
  • What training is provided?


About the organisation and its culture

  • Is the structure of the organisation changing?
  • Who are the major clients of the organisation?
  • Could you tell me something about the growth patterns of the organisation?
  • Could you tell me about recent developments, new products and projects, new markets for the organisation's services/products?
