IT Professionals Industry Event - Thursday 15 November
Monash University's Faculty of Information Technology, together with
Monash University Employment and Career Development, will present the second and
final IT Professionals Industry Event for 2007 on Thursday 15 November
at the Caulfield
campus.
This important event for IT students provides a forum
for you to meet key people, develop contacts and enhance your career
prospects within some major Australian and global organisations.
Hear representatives from Ernst & Young, ManageSoft
Corporation, NAB, PricewaterhouseCoopers and
Torus Games speak about opportunities
for IT professionals in their industries and within
their companies. (Students who attended the previous event in June are
welcome to attend again to learn about new opportunities and perspectives
from the different organisations participating on this occasion.)
Think ahead and start planning NOW for future entry to the professional workforce. Networking and being aware of industry issues are vital in positioning yourself to take advantage of the best working opportunities available to graduates.
Event Outline
The event commences with a session facilitated by Monash University Employment and Career Development, for those keen to get the inside word on graduate resume preparation and interview tips. Short presentations by industry speakers follow, along with an opportunity to meet and network with representatives of the participating organisations.
Thursday 15 November
Caulfield Campus
- 2.00pm - 3.00pm, H1.25 and/or H1.26 (Ground Level,
Building H)
Tips on resume writing, interview technique and the importance of communication
skills - session facilitated by Employment and Career Development.
- 3.00pm - 4.00pm,
H1.16 (Exhibition Space, Ground Level, Building H)
Representatives from participating organisations will
speak briefly on their industry, their company and recruitment
opportunities for you.
- 4.00pm - 5.00pm, H1.16 (Exhibition Space,
Ground Level, Building H)
Meet and speak with representatives one-on-one
to develop your relationship with these top organisations.
Registration
This event is specifically for students completing units or degrees
in Information Technology. Participation is by registration
only and seats are limited. Registration
closes 5.00pm, Wednesday 14 November, or earlier if all
places are filled prior.
