2008 International Jobseeker Expo - 10 September, 11.00am to 3.00pm

Following successful events in 2006 and 2007, Monash University will host its third annual International Jobseeker Expo in September 2008. This premier event will take place at the Caulfield Campus in Melbourne from Wednesday 10 to Friday 12 September.

International and Australian organisations will visit Monash to showcase their employment and career opportunities and will look to recruit students and recent graduates for employment in Australia and all around the world. Opportunities are available for both international and Australian domestic undergraduate and postgraduate students, as well as recent Monash graduates.

A series of Information Sessions will take place on Thursday, 11 September. Guest speakers will present details of their own career experiences, along with insight into their organisations' recruitment processes, opportunities, work cultures and lifestyles in different countries around the world.

There may be an opportunity to attend campus interviews with visiting delegates on either Thursday 11 or Friday 12 September, so have your resumes ready and practise your interview skills now. What better way to head off overseas than with a great job waiting for you when you get there!

For the best chance to secure an interview with your employer of choice:

• Research your eligibility for opportunities with participating organisations
• Perfect your resume, compile one if you don't already have one (and apply in advance if necessary to obtain an interview appointment)
• Practise your introduction and interview skills
• Attend the main Expo event on 10 September to speak with the employer representatives
• Attend follow-up information sessions on Thursday 11 September
• Be ready to attend campus interviews on Thursday 11 and/or Friday 12 September should the opportunity arise

Dress smart-casual for the main Expo event and information sessions, however, formal business attire should be worn if an employer invites you to attend an interview.

Students from other metropolitan campuses may consider travelling to Caulfield via the inter-campus shuttle.

Employer Information Sessions

Information sessions will be conducted by some of the visiting employers on Thursday 11 September. To ensure you are eligible for these sessions, review the main profiles of participating organisations, or speak with representatives at the main Expo event.

Campus Interviews

Some employers may interview students and graduates for their opportunities on campus during their Expo visit. Please attend the Expo and Information Sessions to obtain details.

To ensure that you are eligible for opportunities offered by specific employers and have met their application requirements prior to attending an interview, review the main profiles of participating organisations and conduct your own further research into their opportunities and requirements.
